Cattleya dowiana is native to the Atlantic coastal mountain areas in Costa Rica and was first brought to England in 1864 flowering the next autumn. It is perhaps one of the most beautiful of the Cattleya species. No collection should be lacking this species. The flowers are large and yellow with a deep scarlet velvety veined lip. This form also has scarlet veining in the yellow petal tips. There is also a very nice fragrance.

    when i ordered it ,i did not think it would be that big a size. But when it got here it was a medium size and as green as it could be, i also noticed when i checked it out ,it had several babies coming up.
    Now it is already forming the flowering stem to product flowers, and i was able to seperate the babies to have three more.
    everything that i have ordered from this company has been really great , and if there was anything wrong with anything ,all i had to do was send an email and they got back with me imeditiley and took care of it or told me what to do .
