A turtle was washed beside a rock on the shore. The turtle asked the rock curiously: “You stay here motionless. Not lonely?” Rock answered: “I have been here for hundreds of years and used to it!” Turtle surprised to say: “Ah? You actually have lived so long. I can only live for a thousand years, which is really not fair!”
Turtle encountered an elephant and asked friendly: “Elephant brother, how many years can you live? Elephant answered: “Seven decades. And you?” Turtle had a lot of psychological balance and said proudly: “A thousand years, rock can live millions of years. It’s really a bit unfair. Angry elephant tossed a long straight nose and took a deep breath: “You do not be satisfactory? How poor I am! Elephant asked buffalo when eating, “cattle brother. How many years can you live? Buffalo answered: “Four or five years. When buffalo drank water near a river, it asked a neighbor antelope, “Sheep sister, can you tell brother how many years can you live?” Antelope answered in shy, “How could you inquire about the age of Mrs.? I’m only four years old, a young lady! Buffalo counted, “You’re an adult in 4-year-old, and you can live a decade or two, right? I can live three decades more than you, but elephant can live longer than us! Antelope walked away with displeasure.
Turtle, elephant, buffalo and antelope were gathering in the grass. They behaved polite but inside are full of jealousy. A beautiful dragonfly waving golden wings circled in the sky. Antelope cried: “Dragonfly sister, why are you so busy? Is there anything urgent?” Dragonfly smiled and replied, “You should never call me sister. I only have less than a week of survival. I must take full advantage of this short time and find a mate as soon as possible to give birth to my offspring. And then I’ll be satisfied!” Dragonfly flew away after finishing words. Antelope, buffalo, elephant and turtle raised their heads and watched the fluttering dragonfly go with eyes that look-up-to.
People should learn to be satisfied. However, being satisfied does not mean having no pursuit. Fly heartily as the dragonfly, we would not be in vain in our life and even have mental balance.
