Using Turf Can Help Gardeners Greatly
Sep 13th, 2010 by Myarticle

For many people who love gardening, preparing and looking after a lawn can be one of the most time-consuming jobs of all. Lawn care problems can stem from many things, but fresh turf may be one solution that will cut down on difficulties.

Most people with a seed grown lawn instead of turf are likely to have been affected by lawn problems at some point. Moles, drought, prolonged exposure to hot sun and weeds are some of the most obvious problems that lawn owners have to deal with. Old and tired lawns are more likely to suffer from such complaints. Another issue with older lawns and those grown from lawn seed is that they are likely to be susceptible to weeds such as dandelions.

Turf can be the answer to those gardeners fed up with the weedy lawns attempting to grow in their gardens. The extra cost and care at the beginning is more than made up for by the strong pure growth of a lawn laid with turf.

Laying turf is relatively straight forward, although there are quite a few things you should remember. Turf care advice should be given to you by your turf supplier to make sure that you get the best out of it after it’s been laid.

The main benefits of turf however far outweigh the initial time spent on ensuring it’s bedding down correctly in the first place. The turf will then grow and become more stable as each year passes and normal lawn care instructions should then be followed. Brand new turf however, will be easier to manage over time, so although lawn care will still be required to some degree, it won’t have the same problems that older lawns have had previously.

It can be said of turf therefore that for those gardening around a sub-standard lawn will be glad of the change in routine provided by a quality turf lawn.
