I bought this book for my brother in Louisiana. He calls me almost daily to tell me some familiar bird he now knows the name of. Says the books is the most informative he has ever read. I would imagine because it is concentrated on a select region and does not make you red about every bird in NOrth America before you find the one that just left your feeder. Color illustrations also aid in identifying.

These are my favorite field guides for birds. The pictures are great and the where to look, how to find sections very helpful. Whenever I plan a trip, I look for one of this series to take with me. I sure wish this trip had not gotten cancelled so I could have actually used this little gem. Perhaps it will come in handy sometime in the future.

It’s nice to have a book that has good, clear information about birds, and even when I’m not out trying to identify certain birds it’s just fun to browse through the book. It’s good for bird lovers and bird watchers, especially.
