Mulch bark is an excellent way to decorate and landscape your garden. Many people use mulch bark to make their home’s exterior look stylish with gardening areas that look clean and neat.

Garden mulch is simply chopped up bark from trees which is then used as a decorative and nutritional material for your garden. You can use it around trees, bushes and other plants or as large scale covering. Such wood mulch is often placed on top of plastic coverings when used for large scale areas.

Mulch bark is a cheap and effective way of decorating your driveway or pathways and it looks stunning when done right. It is an alternative to using stones to cover areas where you do not want plants to grow and thus keep maintenance to a minimum.

There are various different kinds of garden bark, but a popular choice is pine bark or chips. You can buy bags of wood mulch from garden stores, but hardware stores and online stores often carry mulch in season. And if you are covering a large area, see if your local garden store will deliver a truckload of bark mulching at a discounted price.

Beyond decorative uses, bark mulch has several other benefits. Place the bark around new plantings or above bulbs. The dark chips will suppress the growth of seeds by preventing weeds from germinating due to lack of light penetration. In the winter, the wood chips will help insulate and protect roots and in the summer, mulch will help conserve water by preventing evaporation. Eventually, bark mulch will decompose, adding nutrients to your soil.

Mulch bark is perfect for keeping a low maintenance garden. These wood chips are relatively cheap to buy, helps to conserve water, control weeds and eventually adds nutrients to the soil as it breaks down. Every year or two years or as needed, replace theses small pieces of mulching in spots were it has decomposed.
